On Sunday Feb. 3, I’ll be giving a talk about my adventures in Japan as a student, a journalist and the mother of two children who attended Japanese school. I’ve given this talk at many Japanese universities but this time it will be an intimate gathering (no more than 20 people) in a cozy, handmade Tudor-style cafe just a few minutes’ walk from Takadanobaba Station in Tokyo. 1,000 yen, including one drink (coffee, tea or juice) at Al’s Cafe. 3:00 to 5:00 pm. For reservations, email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 03-5937-1905
Please pass this information to anyone you think would be interested. There’s information in Japanese here. It’s a great talk for a Japanese student contemplating studying overseas, for example. I use lots of slides, and it’s about things that are familiar to Japanese people, so it’s suitable for someone who is learning English and curious about how foreigners see Japan, as well as advanced and (of course!) native speakers who are contemplating their own adventures in Japan.
